Terms of service

1. The service

TapeHire lets companies share a link that candidates use to record video answers to screening questions, and lets the company's team review, rate, comment on, and export those answers. Optional features include transcripts, AI summaries, and ranking based on transcripts.

2. Accounts

You must give accurate information and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and for the team members you invite. You must be at least 16 years old to use TapeHire. Tell us right away at support@tapehire.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. Company responsibilities

Companies use TapeHire only for lawful hiring purposes. Each company is responsible for how it uses candidate information and for following the employment, anti-discrimination, privacy, and AI hiring laws that apply to it, including giving any required notices and getting any required consent (for example, under the Illinois Artificial Intelligence Video Interview Act). Hiring decisions must be made by people; AI output is only an aid.

4. Candidates

If you record a screen, your answers are shared with the company that sent you the link. That company, not TapeHire, decides how to evaluate your application. You can request deletion of your recordings as described in our privacy policy.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not break the law or violate anyone's rights.
• Do not upload content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringing.
• Do not use the Service to discriminate based on protected traits.
• Do not try to access other companies' data, probe our security, or disrupt the Service.
• Do not resell or copy the Service, or scrape it with automated tools.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you upload, including videos, questions, ratings, and notes. You give us permission to host, store, process, transcribe, and display it only to provide and secure the Service for you. We do not use your content to train AI models.

7. Plans, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically until canceled. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We may change prices with advance notice. You can cancel at any time and your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period.

8. Privacy

Our privacy policy explains how we collect and use personal information, including Google user data.

9. Suspension and termination

You can stop using TapeHire and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you breach these terms or if needed to protect the Service or others. After termination, we delete data as described in the privacy policy.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that AI output will be accurate. To the extent the law allows, TapeHire is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and notify account holders of material changes before they take effect. Continued use means you accept the new terms.
